Third Level of Realization

The Personal Concept

“I can witness not only the light being emanated from the headlight of the engine, but also the engine itself, several compartments, passengers, luggage, food, seats, tables, fans, lights, doors, windows…”

Just like the primeval cause of the train’s movement is the driver who is driving the train, similarly the primeval cause of everything in this cosmos is the Supreme Driver – the Personality of Absolute Truth.


He is the primeval source of:

1.  Origin (not creation) of the innumerable souls, or the living entities: 

ममैवांशो जीव लोके जीव भूत: सनातनः

mamaivāmśo jīva-loke jīva-bhūtaḥ sanātanaḥ


Srimad Bhagwad Geeta 15:07

“The living entities situated in this phenomenal plane are my eternally separated parcels.” 


 

2.       The source of formless, all-pervading reality:

ब्रह्मणो हि प्रतिष्ठाSहं

brahmaṇo hi pratiṣṭhāham

Srimad Bhagwad Geeta 14:27

“I am the source of this eternal, all-pervading, formless transcendence”


 
3.    The source of localized aspect, The God-Immanent:

विष्टभ्यामिदं सर्वं कृत्स्नमेकांशेन स्थितो जगत्

viṣṭabhyāham idam' kṛtsnam ekāmśena sthito jagat

                                        Srimad Bhagwad Geeta 10:42

This unfathomable cosmos, and the limitless living entities, are being maintained by but only a partial aspect of Mine”



This Personality of Absolute Truth is the ultimate source of all the  causes of this cosmos, as well as beyond – but he is himself a Person:
अङ्गानी यस्य सकलेन्द्रिय वृत्तिमन्ति
पश्यन्ति पान्ति कलयन्ति चिरं जगन्ति
आनंद चिन्मय सदुज्ज्वल विग्रहस्य
गोविन्दमादि पुरुषं तमहं भजामि


ańgāni yasya sakalendriya-vṛtti-manti
paśyanti pānti kalayanti ciram jaganti
ānanda-cinmaya-sad-ujjvala-vigrahasya
govindam ādi-puruṣam tam aham bhajāmi

Brahma Samhita 05:32

I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, whose transcendental form is full of bliss, truth, substantiality and is thus full of the most dazzling splendor. Each of the limbs of that transcendental figure possesses in Himself, the full-fledged functions of all the organs, and eternally sees, maintains and manifests the infinite universes, both spiritual and mundane.

In other words – “The ultimate source of all that is formless as well as the having form, is itself devoid of a ‘mundane’ form, but not devoid of an ‘eternal’ form. In fact, the source itself seems to be blooming with all kinds of qualities, and diversity, but at the same time, the extent of diversity itself is incomprehensible, the measure of which lies outside the power of ALL measuring tools ever known by the Mankind.”
